Thank you for your interest in the Venture-Capital Ready program. Designed to help growth-oriented agri-food businesses led by women-entrepreneurs prepare for and attract investment.

Please complete this self-assessment honestly. There are no wrong answers, and if your business isn’t yet ready for investment, we’ll recommend other supportive pathways to help you get there.

Note: we ask you for your business information so that we can contact you and track the reach of the program to report to the funder. We never share your information. It will only ever be used by us to facilitate this program.

Business Basics

(Note: In Canada, investors can only take equity positions in incorporated or limited partnerships. Sole proprietors are not eligible for equity investment until incorporated.)
I own or co-own an agri-food business operating in Canada
My business is majority-owned by a woman or women
I am producing an agri-food or beverage product, or have innovative agri-food research ready for commercialization.
My business is incorporated, a registered partnership, or other legally recognized entity eligible to receive equity investment or commercial financing
Our business has validated demand and is actively selling our product in a commercial market.

Market & Operations

We have (or are implementing) required food-safety, labelling, and regulatory compliance measure.
Our operations, can meet increased demand with additional resources or investment.
We have demonstrated market traction (steady or growing sales, repeat customers, or wholesale placements).
Our business model or growth plan allows us to scale significantly beyond our current trade area (e.g., new markets, larger distributors, national retail, export).

Financial & Investment Readiness

We have (or are preparing) financial statement, sales projections, and a clear understanding of unit economics.
We are preparing to seek external capital to scale production, distribution, or market reach.
We understand that investment usually involves giving up some equity or entering into a formal financial agreement.
We are prepared to dedicate approximately 14 hours a week to complete this program (workshop sessions, learning & coaching opportunities).
